.......I WILL NOT be able to stop myself from buying into Sideshow once these come out:

    http://www.rabidfanboys.com/forums/v...er=asc&start=0

    -Highlander
    -Terminator 2
    -Predator
    -Aliens
    -Scarface
    -Star Wars
    -Marvel

Seriously......I don't know exactly what they'll be doing with each license, but there's no fucking way I'm going to have the will power to pass up Sideshow 12-inchers from Terminator 2 or Star Wars, that's for damn sure (assuming they're doing 12" figs from those licenses).

the word so far has been 1/4 scale figs (18") and statues/busts which sucks imo since we're talking 150-1000$ for this stuff.

fuck........well, I'm not really into collecting statues/busts, so they're out of the question.

And while the 1/4 scale stuff is neat, there's just no way I can afford that.

What about T2, though? I'm hoping for at least a few 12" figs from that license......

If the Scarface is a bust, then I'll start saving up since Sideshow does great likeliness. If it ends up being one of their dolls, Ill have to wait to see it.

I doubt Palisades have lost the licence. The rights-owners are sub-dividing licenses as much as they can. Palisades probably only had the licence for mini-busts, Sideshow only 1:1 busts, etc. Size, type and even the stuff it's made from can play a part.

So far, we know that Star Wars is 1/4 (GG are doing the statues and mini-busts).

Marvel is 1/4, looks like no busts. I'm not sure about 1/6 or statues.

The above two are the most solid info that's known.

Scarface is sounding like 1/6, although I'm not sure. I have absolutely no idea what Terminator will be. A Japanese company is doing 1/6 clothed figures and whilst I don't think that would be a problem rights-wise, I think Sideshow might deciding to add even more to their 1/4 line.

I asked Andy and he said Sideshow are definitely not scaling back their 1/6 output. I think it's just a case of some licenses being available to them only in 1/4, and so they decided to do them in that scale rather than not at all.

the only problem I have with that is:

    - The 1/4 stuff costs an arm and a leg, especially if I was going to collect a whole series worth (i.e. Star Wars)

    - Those aren't really even figures. I'm pretty sure they've got bendy arms and resin heads and stuff...they're way more on the "I'm a collectible, please don't touch me" side of things. I want TOYS, man.

If anything, I'll still be happy with just a few well done 12" T2 figs. My fingers are crossed for an Endo, but since that'd require a completely new sculpt, I don't know how likely it is to happen.

I don't see how they could top McF's 12" Arnie. It's as good as it gets, and doesn't have a stick body.

But Sideshow does have some good likeness, as long as Matt Fall's isn't sculpting it.

well, I don't know about it topping McF's, but I'd sure as hell love a few more to go with theirs. All they did was an Arnie....I want a 12" T-1000, a Sarah Connor, a John Connor, an Endo.....
